AMAC Focus Groups Are Ready For Take-Off!

Dear Members,

As announced at the end of last year, the Associate Members Advisory Council (AMAC) Focus Groups are preparing for take-off! As a valued EBAA Member, we formally invite you to take part.

The AMAC, chaired by Guy Broddin of Finserve Aviation Insurance, is a forum wherein Operators and Associate Members can harmonize their views on subjects of common interest. AMAC Working Groups are currently being formed for the following topics:

• Finance and Leasing
  • Objectives:
    • Overcome a shortage of financing (re)sources by identifying new means and potential new stakeholders, including boosting the opportunities for leasing.
    • Promote solutions at European level aimed at reducing risks from a financier's perspective.
• Aviation Insurance
  • Objective:
    • Educate BusAv operators and service suppliers with respect to the risks and liabilities linked to their aviation operations and business, and help them opt for the appropriate insurance risk management and most suitable coverage.
• Tax & VAT
  • Objectives:
    • Bring clarity on the large number and variety of taxes levied across Europe - especially VAT - related to the acquisition, registration and operation of business aircraft.
    • Help Members register their aircraft based on a thorough geographical assessment of the tax environment.

Once formed, each Focus Group will elect a Chairman, who will oversee the functioning of the Group and report regularly on the Group's progress to AMAC Chairman Guy Broddin. Each Focus Group will meet regularly via teleconferencing or, when feasible, in person to fulfil the tasks defined for it, supported administratively by the EBAA Secretariat.

• Finance & Leasing Focus Group on 1 March 2012
• Insurance Aviation Focus Group on 29 March 2012
• VAT Focus Group on 17 April 2012

The role of the EBAA Associate Members Advisory Council (AMAC) is:

• To define the relationship between EBAA Associate and Full Members, and organise programmes that help to improve communication between these membership segments.

• To advise the EBAA Board of Governors on areas of interest to the Associate Membership.

• To establish issue-driven committees that handle topics that are of common interest to both Associate and Full Members.
