As from 22nd May all aircraft operators, including the Business Aviation operators, that need to access Eurocontrol's CFMU will have to do it through the E-Helpdesk. An AIM has been sent out and this information is visible on the NOP Headline News.
This implementation reduces the service on the telephone Helpdesk, however it could have a negative impact on Business Aviation operators that still need to access the CFMU by telephone. EBAA has however agreed with the Eurocontrol services that CFMU will continue to allow Business Aviation pilots to contact the CFMU by phone and that CFMU will give priority when they see the tag "business jet" appearing on the phone.
CFMU therefore acknowledges the requirement to maintain a telephone service for occasions when queries via E-Helpdesk are not possible. In order to deliver this service and to tag a name to the incoming phone call, the CFMU requires that all Business Aviation operators provide the EBAA with telephone numbers of flight crews who may need to call the CFMU telephone Helpdesk. These numbers will be tagged in their VCS system and will be given priority over other calls in the queue.
EBAA has agreed with the CFMU that we will collect and centralize the telephone numbers from Business Aviation operators. If you would like to take advantage of priority for calls directly from your pilots then you would need to supply us with your Company's coordinates, the pilots' names, phone numbers and e-mail by completing the attached form. Once this information is collected, we will provide it to the CFMU confidentially and only for their use. If your pilots only communicate via your ops centre, you need to do nothing.
