In order to improve the quality of the Eurocontrol’s ETS Support Facility and especially the accuracy for Business Aviation aircraft, Eurocontrol is currently calling for additional fuel consumption samples from Business Aviation operators. Eurocontrol has clarified that they do not need all the 2004 to 2008 or even more recent complete fuel data from an operator but the best is to simply send samples including the fuel data for a typical month period. According to Eurocontrol this would ensure the best coverage in terms of aircraft types and city pairs. Eurocontrol suggest Business Aviation operators to include the following data in their submissions:
1. Mandatory minimum data per individual flight record:
- Departure Airport ICAO Designator
- Destination Airport ICAO designator
- Aircraft Type ICAO designator
- Total Fuel burn (in kg)
- Off-Blocks date and time (UTC)
- On-blocks date and time (UTC)
- Route Length (in km or NM but indicate the unit, an indication on how you get this length value is also welcome)
Note: Fuel burn figure is assumed to be the gate to gate (off-block - on-block), if this is not the case please precise what is the meaning of this value from your perspective.
2. Information not mandatory but desirable:
- The Aircraft registration Mark
- The Aircraft Identification as filed in field 7 of flight Plan
3. Additional detailed information
- Taxi Out fuel (from off-blocks to start of take-off run)
- Take-off fuel
- Initial climb fuel (up to 3000 ft)
- Cruise fuel
- Approach and landing fuel (from 3000 ft to end of landing)
- Taxi-in Fuel (from end of landing to on-blocks)
Non-European operators are encouraged to send their fuel data too.
