On the 12th of August, the ICAO Global Reporting Format (GRF) will come into effect in EASA states, a few months ahead of the FAA date in October and the ICAO global effective date of 4th November.

The EUROCONTROL Voluntary ATM Incident Reporting (EVAIR) team is honoured to have this opportunity to address EBAA and its members. EVAIR has been in existence for almost 15 years now and as the first voluntary ATM incident data collection scheme, it is organised at a pan-European level.

EBAA joins over 20 associations collectively representing the entire European aviation ecosystem to announce a joint commitment to work with policy makers to achieve net zero CO2 emissions by 2050, as part of a comprehensive collaborative analysis released today detailing ways aviation can recover sustainably and more resiliently from the COVID-19 crisis whilst supporting the European Union’s Green Deal objectives.

Calling for a comprehensive Aviation Relief Programme to rebuild the sector, the report notes the critical importance of restoring the public’s confidence in aviation as a key priority and urgent prerequisite in ensuring recovery.

The following response can be attributed to the European Business Aviation Association (EBAA), the British Business and General Aviation Association (BBGA) and The Air Charter Association (The ACA), following the publication of the Sala accident report conclusions by the UK’s Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB).

Since the first Business aviation aircraft took off in 1927, the sector has grown to be a substantial contributor to the European economy. This contribution has often been little understood and few organisations have been able to determine the exact economic value and business benefit that the sector truly makes.
