EU Taxonomy: why is business aviation excluded, what this means for the sector and how we can respond?

Join us for a webinar hosted by the European Business Aviation Association (EBAA) to discuss the implications of the EU Taxonomy for business aviation.

16/05/2024 16:00 - 17:00 CEST

About the webinar

The EU’s taxonomy for sustainable finance is poised to have significant consequences for the business aviation industry. As the European Union advances its Green Deal objectives, aiming to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, it has introduced measures to define which industries qualify as environmentally sustainable for investment purposes.

However, business aviation was left out of the final text of the EU taxonomy criteria for aviation, whilst commercial aviation remains within the scope. This exclusion has big implications, potentially affecting financing, investment opportunities, and operational considerations for companies operating in the business aviation sector.

During this webinar, our expert panellists, including representatives from financial institutions and EBAA, will discuss:

  • The specific challenges and risks posed by the EU taxonomy framework to business aviation companies.
  • How the exclusion from the taxonomy’s scope could impact access to financing and investment for aircraft acquisitions, operations, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Strategies and insights for navigating regulatory changes and advocating for the recognition of business aviation within sustainability frameworks.

The webinar will take place on:

Date: May 16th Time: 16:00 Brussels Time
