EBAA General Assembly postponed until after 6 April 2020

18 March 2020 (Brussels). The European Business Aviation Association (EBAA) today announced that it will postpone its annual General Assembly by teleconference planned for 20 March 2020.

Despite the association’s best efforts and after careful consideration, EBAA decided to postpone its virtual General Assembly planned this Friday 20 March 2020.

Considering the rapidly escalating COVID-19 crisis, the Belgian government and others have announced travel restrictions and social distancing measures effective as of today, until at least 6 April. Therefore, continuing to proceed as planned with the teleconference is no longer possible, as this would still require a small team supporting the call from EBAA’s Brussels office.

The association will reassess the situation after 6 April in view of any health and safety measures still in place or introduced in the meantime. EBAA’s legal obligation to hold an annual General Assembly will be dealt with appropriately and in due time.

Members will be updated as soon as possible on any decision taken.

Over the coming weeks and months, EBAA will be focusing on supporting the business aviation sector using all avenues available. Earlier today and following the announcements of Europe-wide restrictions, the association called on European decision-makers and the Members States to dedicate all possible relief and recovery measures to help the 370,000 people employed in our sector and their families.

EBAA is also in touch with national authorities and local business aviation associations to produce an overview of all the restrictions in place across Europe. As operational guidelines are currently following the various press reports and statements, the team at EBAA is working as fast as possible to collect accurate and official information for its members.
