EBACE Organizers Announce Trailblazing 19-Year-Old Pilot Flying Solo Around the World as Keynote Speaker for May Convention

Las Vegas, NV, Oct. 14, 2021 – Zara Rutherford, the youngest woman attempting to fly solo around the world, will be a keynote speaker on May 23 at the 2022 European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE2022). The announcement was made today at the National Business Aviation Association’s Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE) by the European Business Aviation Association (EBAA) and NBAA, the co-hosts of EBACE.

After 18 months of pandemic, business aviation operators, terminals (FBOs) and all partners and stakeholders of the business aviation value chain have implemented safety measures at every stage of the journey to ensure the health and wellbeing of passengers, workers and citizens in general. Our industry cooperated with EASA to define an effective and efficient EASA-ECDC COVID-19 Aviation Health Safety Protocol that all our stakeholders apply.

ICAO VOLCEX21 planned for November 2021

As an anniversary of sorts, the Volcanic Ash Exercise 2020 (VOLCEX20) was planned as a reenactment of the eruption of Eyjafjallajökull volcano (Iceland) in April 2010. For well know reasons the VOLCEX20 was canceled last year, but it is coming back on the 16th of November 2021.

Reduced Required Landing Distance formally available on 12 August

Together with the Global Reporting Format (GRF), the new possibility of Reduced Required Landing Distance (RRLD) operations for Business Aviation Commercial and non-scheduled operations becomes formally available on the 12th of August.

ICAO Global Reporting Format Implemented in August

On the 12th of August, the ICAO Global Reporting Format (GRF) will come into effect in EASA states, a few months ahead of the FAA date in October and the ICAO global effective date of 4th November.
