The COVID-19 crisis continues to severely impact the freedom of movements in Europe. Member States unilaterally impose travel restrictions, travel bans, tests and quarantine. This heavily hit the airline industry which has still not fully recovered even during the usually busy summer holiday season. Its traffic remained at around 45% of the 2019 levels.

In these times of crisis, coordination is vital to develop joint solutions which will ease a quick return to normal flight operations.

Europe has been very busy in the past years to reform the way airspace is managed to build a more efficient system.

24 June 2020, Brussels. With the gradual restarting of passenger air transport in the coming weeks, leaders from over a dozen air transport associations representing Europe’s aviation sector today issued an urgent call for EU leaders to prioritise specific decarbonisation initiatives in their allocation of future COVID-19 recovery funding.

On 18 May, EBAA along with Europe’s leading aviation associations sent an open letter calling on the European Commission to develop an inclusive and cooperative approach to ensure the safe integration of drones in the European airspace.

By the end of 2019, over 1 million passengers will have boarded a business aircraft in Europe, and many factors will have driven this demand, from business and medical, to governmental needs for point-to-point transportation.

13 November, 2020 (Brussels). EBAA, along with members of Europe's leading aviation associations have today published a joint paper setting out the principles to support the safe integration into European airspace of unmanned aircraft, or 'drones'.

11 September, 2019 (Brussels). Today the European Business Aviation sector signed the joint declaration on the Future of the European Sky, renewing its commitment to the Single European Sky and improving the European airspace.

27 June, 2019 (Brussels). The European Business Aviation Association warmly commends ACI EUROPE for their commitment to net zero CO2 emissions by 2050, indirectly supporting Europe's business aviation sector in achieving its own environmental and wider sustainability goals.

12 April, 2019 (Bucharest). European business aviation calls for an inclusive European Aviation Framework to enable improved connectivity, efficiency, European competitiveness and regional cohesion across the continent.
