Brussels/ Montreal, 19 July 2021. Today, the European Business Aviation Association (EBAA) and the International Business Aviation Council announce the launch of a comprehensive pilot programme for S.T.A.R.S. - Standards & Training for Aviation Responsibility and Sustainability.

After 18 months of pandemic, business aviation operators, terminals (FBOs) and all partners and stakeholders of the business aviation value chain have implemented safety measures at every stage of the journey to ensure the health and wellbeing of passengers, workers and citizens in general. Our industry cooperated with EASA to define an effective and efficient EASA-ECDC COVID-19 Aviation Health Safety Protocol that all our stakeholders apply.

Brussels, 15 July 2021. Today, industry associations European Business Aviation Association (EBAA) and General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) are encouraged by the newly published RefuelEU Aviation Initiative, as it works towards advancing the production, availability and use of Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF) in the region.

On 19 May, EASA shared the results of a comprehensive study on public perception of Urban Air Mobility (UAM) solutions, conducted over a period of 6 months.

As an anniversary of sorts, the Volcanic Ash Exercise 2020 (VOLCEX20) was planned as a reenactment of the eruption of Eyjafjallajökull volcano (Iceland) in April 2010. For well know reasons the VOLCEX20 was canceled last year, but it is coming back on the 16th of November 2021.

Together with the Global Reporting Format (GRF), the new possibility of Reduced Required Landing Distance (RRLD) operations for Business Aviation Commercial and non-scheduled operations becomes formally available on the 12th of August.

On the 12th of August, the ICAO Global Reporting Format (GRF) will come into effect in EASA states, a few months ahead of the FAA date in October and the ICAO global effective date of 4th November.

EBAA’s recently launched Ambassador programme is going from strength to strength, with 18 industry leading companies signed up to support the initiative.

With the recent publication of the second volume of GAPPRE, the group coordinated by EUROCONTROL and the Flight Safety Foundation has reached yet another milestone on the road to safer runway operating conditions.
